Headlock Escape 1

Slice 1: Standard Frame Escape

Op establishes a headlock from Side Mount

A

Get on your side.
Low arm frames against Op’s hip.
High arm forearm against Op’s neck.
Use your high leg to scoot/shrimp your hips away from Op.
Top leg swings up over Op’s head to scissor neck (both legs come up to grab).
Knees at neck. Feet crossed. Adjust your position by using your hands against Op’s body.
Squeeze and straighten legs.
Hold Op’s near arm for control.

Slice 2: Op effectively resists the Scissor Choke.

A

Switch to Side Control

Sit up with down elbow on the ground.
Your top hand threads through to grab Op’s far tricep.
Top leg goes back, allowing your chest to land on Op’s chest and apply controlling weight.
Bottom leg slides out from under Op’s head and back.
Your arms switch to Side control positions. Far arm underhooks, near arm wraps at neck.

Slice 3: Super Lock Variation

Op gets the headlock established before you get a frame in the way or doesn’t let go even after you have the scissor on his neck.

A

You are going to move toModified Mount.
Sit up with down elbow on the ground.
Your top leg swings back.
Your bottom leg slides out from under Op’s head and back.
Go to your knees and push froward to move Op to his side.
Keep your hips low and step over op. You might need to shove Op’s knees out of the way. You can use a hand to pull your foot in close to Op’s hips.
