Trap and Roll Escape
Slice 1: Standard Variation

Position: Mount

Indication: Op has you in Mount. Op’s arm(s) are at your chest.

A
J-hook at Op's wrist. 
Grasp at Op's elbow. *
Trap Op's foot with your knee pointing towards roll direction. 
Feet close to your bottom. 
Hips up, 45 degrees up. 
Knees land close to Op. 

*Or…

If you can’t bend Op’s arm, clasp your hands above Op’s elbow and pull to your chest.

Slice 2: Punch Block

Position: Mount

Indication: Op is/planning punching

A

Turtle up.
Up to hug Op (face touching their chest).
Slide hands up to shoulders and pull/slide your body north.
Away hand wraps all the way around Op.
In hand swims inside to trap Op’s arm. Trap Op’s foot.
Bridge- Reach for the sky with outside hand.
Land with knees close.

Slice 1: Headlock

Position: Mount

Indication: Op has you in Mount and has a headlock.

A

J-hook Op’s arm and pull down against your shoulder to trap.
Head presses back to further trap Op’s arm.
Away arm swims up and around to trap Op’s free hand.
Trap Op’s foot.
Bridge up at 45 degrees.
Knees land close to Op.

Slice 4: Open Guard Pass

Position: Guard

Indication: You have successfully trap and rolled Op and they have an open guard, allowing you to head for full mount.

A

Knees land high, on each side of Op’s bottom.
Head low (on Op’s) stomach.
Elbows on each side of Op’s hips to trap.
Push one of Op’s knees down/out and pass your knee over the middle of their leg.
Knee side hand slides around Op’s neck.
Outside hand posts out.
Other knee slide over Op’s groin.
Establish hooks and sprawl for position control.
