Double Leg Takedown

Position: Standing

Slice 1: Basic application.

A knowledgeable or aggressive opponent may be difficult to get into a waist clinch. How do you take him to the ground?

A

Drop a level.
Step your forward leg in between Op’s legs.
Your shoulder contacts Op’s hips with your head on the outside of Op’s forward leg.
Grab Op’s legs with your hands below Op’s knees.
Push off with both feet. Your forward foot stays planted and you roll forward to your knee.
Hold onto legs on the way down.
Push Op’s knee down and rotate to chest-to-chest Side Control.
