- chest pain occurs days before menses, gradually increases
- typically subsides when menses begins

noncyclic mastalgia
- no apparent precipitating factor
- can be due to large breasts not supported properly
- 30-50 y.o.
- sharp burning sensation on one side
lump in breast that occurs monthly before menses and disappears at end of menses
-may be bc of benign condition called FIBROCYSTIC BREAST
