What is a summary of the study?
A small summary that include all major elements: the aims, hypothesis, method, procedures results & conclusions
What is the introduction a study?
A look at relevant theories, concepts and studies related to current study
Follows a logical progression stating broadly and gradually becoming more specific
What is the method of a study?
Should include sufficient detail so other researchers can replicate the study:
- Design (types of groups and observations) + reasons for choice
- Sample (participants) + sampling method + target population
- Apparatus (any relevant materials used)
- Procedure (what was said, instructions, debrief) + list everything that happened
- Ethics (how they were addressed)
What are the results in a study?
Summary of key findings: descriptive statistics (e.g. Tables,graphs), inferential statistics, choice of statistical test, C value(s), significance of final outcome
What is referencing in a study?
Relationship to previous research: summary of findings in verbal form, relationship to previous research, consideration of limitations, how to address limitations, considering real-world applications
