Who will the Patrol Supv report serious RMP deficiencies to?
Deficiencies: Platoon Commander, or in his/her absence, direct to the Commanding Officer.
Vandalism to vehicle/equipment= IAB
What is the required equipment inside Dept Auto?
A. 2 disposable emergency blankets (marked/unmarked, vans)
B. 4 Traffic Cones
C. 3 Foot polycarbonate shield
D.Crime Scene signs
E. Fire Extinguishers
F. Life ring with rope attached (Marked RMPs)
G. Box of disposable gloves
Supv Vehicles must have:
- 4 waterproof body covers
- Detail Roster
- Rapid Mobilization/Dispatch Schedule
- Restraining straps
- Command Disorder Control Plan
Who will the RMP Operator notify when an RMP requires routine maintenance and/or inspection; or requires repairs?
Desk Officer
By when will Expense Reports for car washes be forwarded to the Audits and Accounts Unit?
By the 10th of each month
Note: Change in vendor request will be forwarded to the Chief of Patrol.
Where will RMP Operator take vehicle to install Tire Chains during the winter months?
Tire Chains may be installed/removed at Authorized Tire Repair Stations.
Note: Fee charged will be same as repair fee.
When will Department Tow be requested?
Only request for:
A. Dept vehicle unable to operate under own power
B. Vehicle req as Evidence, or abandoned on Public Highway, except Derelict.
C. Vehicle in path of Parade, gathering or emergencies
D. ESU assistance
E. Lift heavy articles (Boat, safe etc)
Call Dept Tow Section. If need to cancel before arrival, notify Fleet Services Division.
Who will an MOS notify regarding any misuse of Dept computers or if personal password has been compromised in any way?
Desk Officer or ICO
DO
1. Inspect areas containing Dept Computers at least once each tour.
2. Take immediate corrective action if any misuse or damage found and
Notify: Commanding Officer AND ICO.
3. Make a CLE
Patrol Supv will inspect MDTs frequently through tour and take same actions of reporting as above, but make Activity Log entry.
Who will be responsible for all computer equipment and data security for all computer systems assigned to a command?
ICO
Will also maintain integrity of all Dept recorded media.
Note: DO/Designated Supv will notify ITB Help Desk (24hrs) to report inoperable/malfunctioning computer equipment and enter notification in Telephone Record.
How will radios be accounted for and repaired?
15- up to Batteries, will be replaced at one time at Electronics Section.
10- no more than ten Radios will be accepted at Electronics Section
4 weeks- within, will Electronics Sec be notified to see if radios repaired.
What is the process when a Radio has been Lost, Stolen, or Recovered?
UMOS 1. Prepare Comp Report and get IAB Log #, report facts to CO for: Lost/Stolen Radio Antennas missing, Radio cases missing Batteries, missing.

1. Notify the following in order for Lost/Stolen Radio: O.E.I.S.
A. Operations (get log#)
B. Electronics Section ( give Ops Log #)
C. IAB (get log# and enter in details of 61)
D. SPIS (give radio #)
2. Notify Boro, if radio belonged to Patrol Pct/SRG, after all above notifications made in order.
What items are inside a Patrol Kit?
2 Disposable gowns 2 Disposable eye/mouth shields 2 Pairs of Heavy Duty gloves 2 Pairs of disposable shoe covers 10 anti septic wipes Disposable Bio Hazard bag
Note: Saliva or Urine, not visibly contaminated with blood, is NOT considered an OPIM bio hazard.
When should you use the Patrol Kit?
Use Patrol Kit/ Disposable Gloves when:
A. Contact with blood, body fluids, secretions, exertions etc.
B. Searching dead human body
C. Contact with Hazardous materials, person or animals w/ infectious disease.
D. Searching prisoners
E. Fingerprinting
Note: Only items contaminated with blood or OPIM need to be disposed of in biohazard receptacles located in each command.
Gloves used while fingerprinting or searching prisoners, and PPE items worn but not contaminated, may be discarded in a regulare trash receptacle.
(Ex: Saliva or urine from EDP, with no blood in it, may dispose of in trash can)
Must confer with a immediate supervisor at parades and demos before using patrol kit items. Supv will make determination.
Non-disposable uniform items (nameplates, shields) may be decontaminated with a 1 part bleach 10 part water solution.
** Dispose of gloves inside contaminated waste container at command. May dispose of gloves inside EMS Ambulance if EMS already on scene, (Unless EMS refuses); may also dispose of gloves inside Hospital ER if there bc a person was transported by you, (unless Hospital staff refuses). In both refusal cases, secure gloves inside patrol kit plastic bag and bring to precinct for disposal.
Never request EMS to scene just to dispose of gloves.
Never go to Hospital just to discard gloves.
Who will the DO/Central Booking Supv contact to arrange for messenger to pick up regulated infectious waste?
Medical Division Sick Desk supervisor
Who will an MOS notify upon discovering the loss or theft of Dept Property?
MOS
1. Report facts to Desk Officer
DO
1. Notify CO and Operations Coordinator
Ops Coordinator 1. Conduct investigation 2. CLE of facts and results 3. 49 to CO 4. Have 61 prepared 5. Notify: IAB (get log# and enter in detail of 61) SPIS (if property has ID letters or #)
Who will an MOS notify upon discovering the loss/theft of a firearm, shield or ID Card?
MOS
1. Notify DO, pct of occurrence, IMMEDIATELY.
(Nassau/Suffolk= Notify DO, 105 Pct)
(Surrounding counties= Notify DO, 50 Pct)
(Outside NYC= Notify Operations direct and local police)
2. Prepare Part A of Lost/Stolen Firear/Sh/ID Report.
(If loss/theft occurred outside NYC, DO or Ops member will prepare Parts A
And B of report)
3. Report to Commanding Officer
DO 1. CLE of Facts 2. Notify: CO/DC and Operations immediately 3. Prepare Part B of Lost/Stolen Report 4. Ensure 61 prepared and finalized and alarm transmitted unless it happened outside NYC, which will only require CLE/Telephone Record entry. 5. Notify: IAB, and enter Log # in 61 details or Telephone Record as appropriate
Note: If loss/theft of shield occurs when Employee Resources Section is closed, and MOS is scheduled for duty in uniform, the MOS will be assigned to duty in uniform until ERS opens the next business day.
