When can a UMOS make an arrest?
1- Arrest with Warrant
2- Delegate by PO to whom warrant addressed.
3- Reasonable Cause to believe Offense committed in presence.
4- Reasonable Cause to believe a person committed Crime, in presence or not.
5- Petty Offense in his presence and
In GAOE and arrest made in county of occurrence
Or adjoining county
What actions will a UMOS take to affect a Bribery arrest, when there’s no time to notify IAB?
If Bribery is charged After the original arrest has been processed but Before arraignment, an Arrest Report Supplement must be prepared describing circumstances of bribe.
Who verifies an arrest made by a UMOS?
Arrests will be verified by their Supervisor. (I.e. Anti Crime arrest verified by AC Supv. If available)
Who will verify Any arrests which were not verified at the scene of arrest by UMOS supervisor?
Desk Officer.
Note- So if member’s Supv doesn’t verify at the scene, and another Supv verified, no need for Desk Officer to verify at the command
In what three places will the Desk Officer record arrival of arrests into the command?
Roll Call
Interrupted Patrol Log
Command Log.
Who gets notified if a juvenile is taken into custody?
RTCC and a Parent/Guardian immediately
What is an Resisting Recidivist?
Prisoner who has been arrested 2 or more times within the past 5 years for Resisting, Assault 2 or Assault on PO, EMS…
Who verifies an arrest effected by an off-duty UMOS?
CO or Duty Captain verifies.
Once a strip search is conducted by UMOS, after approval from immediate supervisor, the DO, Pct of Occur will ensure the info gets documented where?

3 phone calls, unless compromises investigation or dangerous condition created.
1 call anywhere in US or Puerto Rico
2 calls anywhere in NYC
When will UMOS prepare a Medical Treatment Form?
CRAMP
Claims injury/illness Receives medical/psych attention Apparent need of treatment Medication prescribed/required Prior injury
An UMOS will do a FINEST check using DALL function when a person is arrested for what?
1-Stolen Vehicle, Driving
2-Altered VIN, Driving
3-Plates, stolen, Driving
Who will be notified when a prisoner refuses to remove a religious head scarf for official arrest photo?
Manhattan Court Section.
Photos are taken in Manhattan for religious reasons. Odd!
When can a UMOS request from his immediate supervisor that a prisoner Not be handcuffed?
SEAT

When there’s disagreement between DO and immediate Supv from outside unit in regards to a strip search of a perp, who will the DO notify?
DO will notify the Pct CO/DC, who will make final decision.
What is the max number of prisoners that should be transported in a 12 pass van?
3 Max, but if necessary use leg restraints if available.
7 is Max in a van
Less than 5, secure loose ends of transport chains
When must Leg Restraints be used on a prisoner?
1- Refused Prints
2-Hospital Transport
Unless DO determines extenuating circumstances exist that would prevent the use. CLE entry why.
What information will be entered in the detail section of the OLBS when an attorney interviews a prisoner?
Interview done in muster room, reasonable time frame.
Include: a.Name, Address, Phone# of attorney
b. If interview conducted.
c. Time attorney arrived/departed
Where will a refusal to get fingerprinted be documented?

Refused Prints Report
Notify Boro Ct. Supv of refusal. After arrest processing, ask prisoner again. If still refuse, put leg restraints and transport to Boro Ct. Sec.
When will an Arrest Rep Supp.be prepared?

- Report addt. Info after OLBS prepared:
- Change in Offense charge
- Re-arrest on bench warrant
- Attorney visits prisoner (CLE of attorney visit)
- Hospitalized prisoner visited by authorized person
- Prisoner released from Hospital (17-, name of parent, AO)
- Hosp prisoner released on DAT
- Prisoner released to CIS for MVA investigation
- Child released from detention
- Clothing removed from Homicide Vic for exam
- Addt Bribery charge
If AO on 1st platoon has an arrest, and he returns from court within 6 hours of his next 1st platoon, what are his options?
A-Work next scheduled 1st platoon (No patrol)
B-Request to work 2nd platoon (Next Day)
C-Take Lost Time/Day for next scheduled 1st Platoon
If AO with a 1st platoon arrest returns from court and the next 1st platoon has already started, what are his options?
A- Finish Tour (No patrol)
B- Take lost time
If AO has a 3rd platoon arrest and the arrest reaches the complaint room by 0800, then?
OT ends at 0800 and he is rescheduled for the 2nd platoon.
If AO has a 3rd platoon arrest and the arrest does not reach the complaint room by 0800, then?
Continue OT until processing is completed, or until next 3rd platoon starts.
If it goes into your next 3rd plt start, when you get back you can:
a. Finish tour (No patrol) b. Take Lost Time.
When can a UMOS be assigned a Turnover arrest?
1-AO injured 2-Off duty Arrest 3-DAT 4-FOA arrest 6-Mass arrest at demos, details or disorders 7-Civilian arrest 8-VOOP 9- Others, when directed by uniform Supv

Bring the youth directly to Residential Facility if located in NYC.
If Residential Facility located outside of NYC, bring youth to Horizons Juvi Center.

13 yr old charged w/ any Felony
Whenever prisoners must be fingerprinted, photos may also be taken.
No Fingerprints for Unlawful Eviction and NO DAT.
