Fast Response Vehicles now have regularly assigned members who have completed specialized training allowing our members to serve as Tactical Emergency Medical Support (TEMS) as well as ________ providers.

ORIGINAL GOALS of FRVs:
- Respond to EMS incidents within and adjacent to their assigned districts to decrease response times.
- Initiate faster patient care for time-critical patients.
- Perform on-scene triage and cancel and/or upgrade/downgrade responding resources as indicated to increase operational efficiency.
- Increase availability of both fire companies and paramedic ambulances.
- Respond to incidents when a BLS company on scene requests an ALS resource for an AMA and cancel the dispatch of any ALS companies.
- Provide EMS resource coverage.
EXPANDED GOALS of FRVs
- Support law enforcement at the scene of Tactical EMS incidents with TEMS Specialist certified FF/PMs.
- Provide specialized screening to clear patients with solely mental health crisis for transport to a non-hospital, psychiatric facility.
- Provide specialized screening to clear serial inebriants with no medical complaints for transport to a sobering center.
If a vacancy on the FRV is unable to be filled by a TEMS/AD specialist, then it will become available to all dualfunction paramedics and the FRV will be downgraded from its status of a TEMS/AD provider.
If no FF/PM is available, then the vacancy will become available to FF/EMTs and the FRV will be further downgraded from paramedic to ALS ASSESSMENT and the narcotics will be removed and secured by ________.
