What are the Equipment requirements of an Xi6 box?
- Rented Wireless Gateway (Arris XB3 TG1682G, Arris XB6 TG3482G, Technicolor XB6 CGM4140COM or Cisco 3941T) with RDK-B firmware
- XG1, XG2 or XG1v4 TV Box
- Note: For customers who are configured as All IP, an XG device is not required.
What are the Eligibility requirements of an Xi6 box?
In order to receive an Xi6 device, customers must:
• Be a new X1 install (new customer or existing customer with a non-X1-to-X1 upgrade).
• Receive a professional installation (at the technician’s discretion). Note: West Division offers Self-Install Kits.
• Be able to connect to their TV using HDMI input.
• Have Xfinity TV and Xfinity Internet service with an Xfinity Wireless Gateway (Arris XB3 TG1682G, Arris XB6 TG3482G, Technicolor XB6 CGM4140COM or Cisco 3941T) with RDK-B.
• Have at least one additional XG1, XG2 or XG1v4 TV Box to act as the primary X1 device on the account.
What 4K UHD/HDR content is available to customers with Xi6 Wireless TV Boxes?
4K UHD and 4K UHD HDR Netflix content on X1, 4K On Demand content (free or purchased) on X1 and 4K YouTube content on X1 are available.
Will using the Wireless TV Box count against a customer’s Internet data usage?
The Wireless TV Box acts as a wired box when utilizing standard TV Box features, such as Live Broadcast, Xfinity On Demand, Pay Per View and Guide. Internet apps, such as Netflix, Pandora and YouTube, will continue to count toward data usage.
