What is the mediterranean diet?
- fresh local, unprocessed foods
- grains, olive oil, nuts, pasta
- cheese and yoghurt, not milk
- fish and poultry up to 3x per week
- red meat less common-serving sizes are small and usually broiled
- Serving sizes of food are the same by North American standards but fats are healthier being from plants not animals
- Foods broiled, not deep fried
