list what should be taught to a pt with cardiomyopaty (10)

A
  • take all meds
  • low salt diet
  • 6-8 glasses water/day (unless restricted)
  • healthy weight and diet
  • avoid alcohol, caffeine, diet pills, cold med
  • balance activity and rest
  • check w physician for activity guidelines
  • see doctor if S&S of HF
  • notify HCP before any dentist or invasive procedure (risk of IE)
  • family members should know CPR (high chance of cardiac arrest)
