- splint incision w pillows during coughing, DB&C, and moving
- position pt comfortably

. what nursing interventions can be completed to help relieve this? (6)
A
- administer antiemetic meds as ordered
- assess response to pain meds to determine if that is the cause
- maintain patency of NG tube to prevent accumulation of gastric secretions
- assess BS and abdominal distension to determine return of peristalsis
- keep patient on NPO status until orders for postop diet received
- limit unpleasant smells, sights, and stimuli
