what type of hearing loss does Webers test for?

-conductive

How is Rinnes test conducted?
A
- hit the tuning fork off of knee or something
- hold tuning fork with forks facing upwards just lateral to the ear and then turn the fork around so that the bottom of the fork is on the mastoid bone
- ask the patient which was louder
Positive/ Normal Rinne test= patient heard sound louder infront
Conductive hearing loss= bone conduction louder than air conduction

How is Webers test conducted?
A
- hit tuning fork off something
- put tuning for infront of middle of the forehead (like unicorn horn) and ask patient which ear they hear it louder in or if it is heard in the midline
normal= heard in midline
conductive hearing loss= will hear louder in affected side
sensorineural hearing loss= will be heard louder in the ‘better’ ear
