- squamous papillomas (most common)
- schneiderian papillomas
- angiofibromas
what are risk factors/causes of Schneiderian papillomas?
- HPV
- smoking
- organic solvents
- welding
- more common in males
how do squamous papillomas, scheniderian papillomas and angiofibromas present?
-typically present with a blocked nose
what is the treatment for Squamous papillomas of the nose, Schneiderian papillomas and angiofibromas?
-all papillomas are removed, radiotherapy may be required for malignant inverting papillomas
what are some examples of malignant tumours of the nose?
- squamous cell carcinoma (most common)
- primary adenocarcinoma
- nasopharyngeal carcinoma
- neuroblastoma
- lymphoma
what increases chance of getting nasopharyngeal carcinoma?
- more common in males
- associated with EBV
how do malignant tumours of the nose tend to present?
- unilateral obstruction
- epistaxis
- mucus
- hyposmia
what is the treatment for malignant tumours of the nose?
-complete surgical resection and adjacent radiotherapy
