Set up
A
Examiner at same eye level as patient.
-Visual fields of the examiner and patient are compared
ENSURE patient stares directly at your eye

1) Visual Fields Quadrants
A
- Patient covers one eye and you cover opposite eye and compare fields
- Place fingers in four quadrants and assess
ENSURE patient stares directly at your eye

2) Blindspot
A
ENSURE patient stares directly at your eye
-move red hat pin laterally until patient no longer see it (red part)
When blindspot is found:
-move pin up and down

3) Oblique
A
-Move WHITE pin diagonally in to the centre and ask them when they first see it
SWAP EYES- DO on other side

What causes an enlarged blindspot?

Swollen optic disc
