heavy menstrual bleeding, thought to be secondary to: 1)an increase in uterine cavity size that leads to greater surface area for endometrial sloughing and/or 2)obstructive effects on uterine vasculature that leads to endometrial venule ectasia and proximal congestion in myometrium/endometrium resulting in heavy menstrual bleeding;;;other symptoms include pain and pressure related to size of tumors

What happens when using GnRH agonist treatment for myomas?
mean uterine size decreases 30 to 64% after 3 to 6 months of use; it decreases release of estrogen
