Q

How are covalent bonds formed?

A

Atoms pull on electrons from other atoms, pulling the two atoms together. As they near each other, the atoms begin to push apart, but are still being pulled together because of the electrons. This causes the potential energy in the atoms to decrease, forming a stable bond between them.
