What is Mediation(n.)
Mediation involves an impartial third party facilitating discussions between disputing parties to help each side of the conflict reach a resolution themselves.1During mediation, a mediator acts to facilitate the communication flow between disputing parties but does not offer their own opinions or make any decisions.2
What is Arbitration(n.)
Arbitration involves an independent third party hearing arguments from both disputing parties and making a legally binding decision to resolve the conflict.1This process occurs in a court-like setting and is considered the most formal step in the dispute resolution process.2
