nociceptive

bruises
burns
fractures
overuse or joint damage due to arthritis or sprains
neuropathic pain
due to damage to the body neurological system, often described as shooting pain or burning sensation along the path of the nerve
referred pain
pain perceived at a location other than the site of the painful stimulus or origin of the pain
projected pain
pain that follows the same nerve distribution as the primary source (dermatome or motor distribution)
central pain
source is central but perceived peripherally
example of central pain
brain tumor than causes extremity pain (brain does not have nociceptors)
