1
Q
What is a tropism?
A
Growth in Response to a stimulus
2
Q
What happens to the shoots in Uniform light?
A
Auxin Molecules are diffused evenly backwards away from the light. This means the shoots grow staright up as all cells elongate at the same rate
3
Q
What happens to the shoots when their is light from one side?
A
The light from one side causes the Auxins move from the darker to the lighter side increasing the concentration on the darker side promoting more elongation on the darker side in comparison to the lighter side. The shaded side grows at a quicker rate meaning that the shoots grow and bend towards the light.
