caution/contraindicated?
A
1st trimester of pregnancy - associated with increased fetal abnormalities risk
those with folate deficiency
those who are immunocompromised e.g. HIV, elderly
renal impairment

A
nausea vomiting sore mouth hypersensitivity reactions-rash megablastic anaemia hyperkalaeimia GI disturbances
aseptic meningitis

drug interations?
A
folate antagonists such as methotrexate , phenytoin increase effect of warfarin K elevated drugs - hyperkalemia hyponatremia many can cause nephrotoxicity

ACEi given with spironolactone
