A
Nicotinic ganglionic blocker (non-depolarizing), reversible competitive inhibition

Action
A
Blocks both the sympathetic nervous system and the parasympathetic nervous system. It acts as a non-depolarizing competitive antagonist at the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors

Indications
A
Rarely used but sometimes for hypertensive crisis or in dissecting an aortic aneurism

Toxicity
A
Very toxic and only used in emergency situations, orthostatic hypotension, urinary retention, constipation, impaired accomodation of lens of the eye

Short acting, IV, does not cross BBB
