Q

How do plants use glucose for respiration

A

They transfers energy from glucose which enables the plants to convert the rest of the glucose into various other useful substances

Q

How is glucose used in plants when storing starch

A

Glucose is turned into starch and stored in roots stems and leaves ready for when photosynthesis isn’t happening like in winter

A

Light intensity

17
Q

What is the limiting factor in winter

A

The temperature

18
Q

What is the limiting factor if it’s warm enough and bright enough

A

The amount of CO2

19
Q

How can chlorophyll be a limiting factor of photosynthesis

A

The amount of chlorophyll in a plant to be effected by a disease e.g. tobacco mosaic virus or environmental stress such as lack of nutrients
these factors can cause chloroplasts to become damaged or to not make enough chlorophyll
this means the rate of photosynthesis is reduced because they can’t absorb as much sunlight
