What is binary fission
How prokaryotic cells reproduce using a type simple cell division
What is the first step of binary fission
The circular DNA and plasmids replicate
What is the second step of binary fission
The cell gets bigger and DNA loop move to opposite poles (ends) of the cell
What is the third step of binary fission
Cytoplasm begins to divide a new cell walls begin to form
What is step four of binary fission
Cytoplasm divides two daughter cells are produced each daughter cell has one copy of the DNA loop but can have variable number of copies of plasmids
What are the right conditions for bacteria to divide
Warm environment and lots of nutrients
What happens if the conditions become unfavourable to bacteria cells
The cells will stop dividing and eventually die
What is the mean division time
The main division time is just the average amount of time it takes for one bacterial cell to divide

Make sure both times are in the same unit
Total/mean
Divide the total time of the bacteria are producing cells by the mean division time this gives you the number of divisions
