TMA- The axilla Flashcards

1
Q

What is the axilla?

Q

What is the function of the axilla?

When is the axilla smallest?

Q

What lymph nodes travel through the axillary?

A

Axillary lymph nodes filter fluid tat has drained from the upper limb and pectoral region, axillary lymph enlargement is a non specific indicator of breast cancer as 75% of breast lymphs drain to the axillary

Q

What muscles and tendons exist within the axilla?

A

Biceps brachii (short head) and coracobrachialis- these muscles and tendons move through the axillawheere they attacth to the coracoid process of the scapula
