What are the extensor tendon caompartments of the wrist?

A

Six tunnels which transmit the long extensor tendons from the forearm into the hand. They are located on the posterior aspect of the wrist.

A

Extensor pollicus brevis and abductor pollicus longus. These tendons form the lateral border of the anatomical snuffbox.

What is De Quervians syndrome?

A

Inflammation of the tendons in the first compartment. Typically associated with woman aged between 30 and 50 who have hobbies involving extensive wrist movements. Symptoms include pain near the base of the thumb and swelling or secondary thickening of the tendon sheath.
