Q

What muscle is the brachial artery related to?

How does it travel?

When does it change into radial and ulnar arteries.

A

Teres major

Down the middle of the arm, throguh the cubital fossa
Profunda brachii travels in radial groove and supplied triceps

When it bifurcates

Q

What does the radial artery supply

How do you palpate the radial pulse

What does the ulnar supply?

A

Posteriolateral aspect of the forearm

Distal forearm, lateral to the tendon of flexor carpi radialis

Anteromedial aspect of the forearm. Gives rise to the interosseous arteries

Q

What do the radial and ulnar arteries anastomose to form

A

Superficial palmar arch located anteriorly to the flexor tendons. Gives rise to digital arteries which supply fingers

Deep palmar arch- located deep to flexor tendons, contributes blood supply to digits and wrist joint
