Henlein was the leader of the Sudeten Germans. Hitler ordered Henlein to stir up trouble in the Sudetenland.
What did German newspapers do?
German newspapers printed false allegations of Czechs committing crimes against Sudeten Germans.
What did Hitler threaten to do if a solution wasn’t found?
Go to war.
What did Chamberlain do to try and rectify the situation?
Chamberlain tried to persuade the Czech President, Beneš, to allow the Sudetenland to have a Self-Government. Beneš reluctantly agreed to this.
After Beneš accepted the Sudetenland having its own Government, Hitler made a new demand. What was this?
He demanded that the Sudetenland should be a part of the German Reich (Empire).
What was Beneš’ response to Hitler’s 2nd demand?
He refused profusely.
What did Chamberlain ask Hitler for after Beneš refused to give Hitler the Sudetenland?
Chamberlain asked Hitler for more time so that he could find a peaceful solution.
