A
- Nobody wanted the horrors of WW1 to be repeated.
- Many people believed that the Treaty of Versailles had been too harsh on Germany.
- If Germany grew stronger, they acted as a buffer between Europe and Communism. Communism was a big threat at the time.
- Britain was not ready for war. By 1938, the German armed forces were very strong.
- Britain was preoccupied by the results of the Depression (high level of unemployment).
- Spanish Civil War results proved how ruthless and powerful Germany’s forces were. Guernica was mercilessly bombed by Germany and this showed the world how strong Germany was.

- There were plenty of opportunities to stop Hitler (Rhineland) that were missed because of Appeasement.
- Appeasement failed to prevent WW2, it was a #EpicFail.
