Why was the Nazi-Soviet Pact quite shocking?
Because Hitler was a facist and Stalin was a communist, they had opposing political beliefs. And Hitler REALLY hated communism.

- If the USSR wasn’t against Germany, Hitler would not have to fight a war on 2 fronts.
- If USSR wasn’t protecting Poland, Hitler could focus more on Poland.
