What does superficial mean?

What does deep mean?
Below layer.
What is the function of the coronary arteries?
Carry blood to the heart at a high pressure to oxygenate the blood.
What do the semi lunar valves do?
Connect heart ventricles and arteries
What is the role of the vena cava?
Bring deoxygenated blood to heart to get oxygen.
What is the role of the right atrium?
Receives deoxygenated blood from the body and pumps to the right ventricle
What is the role of the tricuspid valve?
Allows blood flowing into the heart from the body to flow to the right ventricle
What is the role of the right ventricle?
Pumps deoxygenated blood to the pulmonary artery from the semilunar valve.
What is the role of the semilunar valve?
Allow blood to be pumped into the arteries but prevents the backflow of the blood from the arteries into the ventricles.
What is the role of the pulmonary arteries?
Carries deoxygenated blood to the lungs.
What is the role of the pulmonary vein?
Carries oxygenated blood from the lungs to the left atrium.
What is the role of the left atrium?
Receives blood from pulmonary vein and pumps to the left atrium through the bicuspid valve.
What is the role of the bicuspid valve?
Allows blood to flow from left atrium to the left ventricle whilst preventing backflow
What is the role of the left ventricle?
Pumps blood from the left atrium to the aorta through the semilunar valves.
What is the role of the aorta?
Main artery that carries blood away from the heart to the rest of the body.
