Describe the steps of semi conservative replication
A
- Enzyme DNA helicase separates original DNA
- Free nucleotides from nucleoplasm are attracted to their complementary bases on each separated strand of DNA
- DNA polymerase forms phosphodiester bonds between nucleotides
- 2 identical DNA molecules are formed
- Each DNA molecule now has one original strand and one newly synthesised strand
