What will happen if you select the TERR pb to OFF
Inhibits only the terrain warning feature of the GPWS system
What will happen if you select the SYS pb to OFF
Inhibits each of the basic categories of the GPWS system. Terrain warning remains fully operational
What does the G/S MODE pb do when you turn it OFF, when would you turn it OFF
1) Inhibits the excessive deviation below glideslope warning “GLIDESLOPE”
2) Turn off for approaches with G/S out of service or LDA/LOC/CIR approaches
What does the FLAP MODE pb do when you turn it OFF, when would you turn it off
1) Inhibits the unsafe terrain clearance warnings “TOO LOW FLAPS”
2) Turned off during Flap Malfunction
What does the LDG FLAP 3 pb do when you turn it ON? What indication will you get on the Landing Memo display when you turn this on?
1) Configures the GPWS to expect FLAP 3 as the final flap setting for landing
2) Inhibits the “TOO LOW FLAPS” aural warning
3) Landing Memo displays FLAPS CONF 3 instead of FLAPS FULL
What happens when you select the TERR ON ND pb on the CA or FO side panel
Terrain is continuously displayed on the respective ND
What happens if the TERR ON ND pb is deselected (light out) on the CA and/or FO side panel
1) Terrain is automatically displayed on both NDs as a result of caution or warning
2) Both TERR ON ND pbs illuminate on
3) To remove the terrain display, the pb must be deselected.
What display has priority on the ND, Terrain or WX
Terrain
How do you control the brightness of the EGPWS Terrain displays.
Outer (Big) knob of the ND Brightness Control Knob. Also controls the brightness of the WX radar.
What will be displayed on the ND on the lower right corner if Terrain is being displayed? What if WX Radar is being displayed?
Terrain - TERR (blue)
WX Radar- TILT (blue)
How is the highest elevation of an obstacle within the NDs range setting represented? In What mode will it appear
Three digit height in amber (eg. 081 is 8100 feet).
Appears only in ARC mode
What are the indications associated with a Terrain Caution
1) Both GPWS lights (amber)
2) Aural “TERRAIN AHEAD”
3) Terrain displays on both NDs
4) Amber TERRAIN AHEAD message on both NDs
What are the indications associated with a Terrain Warning
1) Both PULL UP lights (red)
2) Aural “TERRAIN AHEAD PULL UP”
3) Terrain displays on both NDs
4) Red TERRAIN AHEAD message on both NDs
What do you do when you get a TCAS preventative advisory
Keep the aircraft V/S out of the red area of the PFDs vertical speed indicator
What do you do when you get a TCAS corrective advisory
Keep the aircraft V/S within the green shaded area of the PFDs VSI
