Q

What is the normal fuel loading sequence. Is the center tank normally filled without filling wing tanks first

A

1) Outer wing tanks filled to capacity first, followed by inner then center

2) No center tank is not normally filled without first filling wing tanks

7
Q

If there is fuel in the center tank, what is the normal automatic fuel feed priority if flaps are fully retracted/ extended?

A

1) Flaps FULLY retracted- Center Fuel is consumed first followed by wing tank fuel

2) Flaps Extended - center pumps automatically shut off per auto logic, allowing wings tank fuel to be consumed

8
Q

What are pressure reducers, when will they operate and which pumps are equipped with them?

A

1) Allow center tank pump pressure to preferentially supply the respective engine

2) Operate only when flaps are fully retracted

3) Only the wing tank pumps are equipped with pressure reducers.

9
Q

What are the functions of the L and R TK PUMPS pbs

A

1) On (light out) - pump runs continuously until pb is selected off

2) OFF (white) - pump is deactivated and remains off until pb is selected on.

Q

What are the functions of the MODE SEL pb

A

1) AUTO (light out) - if CTR TK PUMP pbs IS on (light out), the center tank pumps will be automatically activated and deactivated as required by system logic

2) MAN (white) - auto pump activation/ deactivation logic is off. Center pumps must be manually controlled

16
Q

What is the indication when the transfer valves are in transit

A

amber diagonal lines

17
Q

When does the F. USED indications reset to zero

A

Automatically during engine start

18
Q

What are the locations of the following valve indications on the ECAM FUEL page:

1) Crossfeed Valve
2) APU Fuel Valve
3) Engine Low Pressure Valve

A

1) Crossfeed Valve - directly above the CTR text
2) APU Fuel Valve - under the white APU
3) Engine Low Pressure Valve - directly below the engines F. USED quantity number

19
Q

Where are the temp indications located on the ECAM FUEL page?

A

Outer and Inner compartment temps are displayed directly below the respective compartment on the ECAM FUEL page

20
Q

Are fuel temp readings provided for the center tank?

A

No

21
Q

How is the fuel Crossfeed Valve controlled? What are the positions?

A

Controlled with the X-FEED pb

1) Closed (Light out) - Valve is closed
2) ON (white) - Valve has been commanded open
3) OPEN (green) - Valve is in the open position

22
Q

What other indications will you get when the Crossfeed valve is open

A

1) FUEL X FEED (green) appears on the E/WD memo section

2) On the ECAM FUEL page, the crossfeed valve appears as inline green

23
Q

What are the indications of a degraded Fuel Quantity Indication (FQI) system

A

1) Amber Hash marks cover the last two digits of fuel quantity displays of the FOB indiation and E/WD

AND

2) The individual Fuel Tank Quantities

24
Q

What is the meaning of an amber half box surrounding the FOB indication on the E/WD

A

Three probably causes, all the result of trapped fuel:

1) Both center tank pumps have failed with usable fuel in the tank
2) Both center tank pumps have been turned off with usable fuel in the tank
3) A wing tank transfer valve has failed to open
