What happens in the primary stage of syphilis?
Small, hard sores develop at site of infection. Fluid in sores is highly infectious. Bacterial enters the bloodstream.
What is chancre?
Small, hard-based sores. Usually associated with syphilis
What happens in the secondary phase of syphilis?
Skin rashes, patchy hair loss, mild fever
After how long of latency in syphilis is the disease no longer infectious?
2-4 years
