Steps to follow before an exposure

  1. wearing a DRD, PAD, TLD or OSL
  2. verify survey meter operation
  3. survey exposure device walls and inspect ancillary equipment
    - set up the shot
  4. connect head hose + drive cable and ensure connection with a NO NOGO, lock camera, refer to operation manual
  5. lay the drive cable and source guide tube out (as straight as possible)
  6. additional shielding
  7. set up barrier
  8. ensure everyone is out of area, monitor entry points
  9. last check DRD
  10. unlock exposure device + set to operate

Steps to follow during an exposure

  1. push the Popsi-lock so red tag is visible
  2. quickly project source + monitor with survey meter
  3. set timer for exposure
  4. survey boundaries and ensure rate is <0.1mSv/h
  5. constant control of radiation area
  6. quickly crank to retract + monitor source travel with a survey meter
  7. ensure Popsi-lock engages to green position
