Ignoring caveats can you move a train once it has come to a stop when permissive working?

A

No, once it has stopped you cannot move it again without authority, other than coupling and uncoupling.

  1. Check Signal is proceed or get permission to PAD
  2. Check length of train
  3. Close doors [orange hazard lights gone out etc]
  4. Train Safety Check
    1. doors closed
    2. nobody trapped in doors
    3. nobody in contact with train
  5. Start train, only if safe to do so

If you cant do any of these checks due to faulty cab equipment, eg montors or mirrors you need to get them done by another means.
