A
  • identify any treat predisposing cause like lymphoedema, venous stasis or diabetes
  • prophylactic antibiotics to suppress

decolonisation therapy once lesions gone

  • collect nasal, perineal swabs
  • intranasal mupirocin ointment for 5 days
  • chlorhex 2% / triclosan 1% wash for 5 days
  • wash bed linen weekly
  • wash towels daily, dry in sunlight

decolonise household contacts if initial trial fails
