- identifies patients at risk of perinatal depression
- max score 30
- score above 13 suggests depressive illness
6 week postnatal maternal check - checklist of items to cover
- pregnancy issues (blood pressure, gestational diabetes)
- home support
- tiredness, fatigue
- screen for depression risk (EPDS)
- breastfeeding or diet status
- mode of delivery, any issues (c-section check scars, vaginal check episiotomy)
- incontinence or bowel issues
- on-going discharge (lochia normal)
- contraception status
- update vaccination status
- update CST
define lochia
normal mix of blood and mucus discharge, per vaginal
lasts 4-8 weeks
can be red blood loss in first 2-12 days
