Age: 2-3 years. Children play next to each other but are involved in their own play. They are aware of other children and may copy each other, but they do not interact.
What is co-operative play, and at what age does it occur?
Age: 3 years and over. Children share ideas and resources in the same activity. They interact, agree roles, and develop their play towards a shared goal.
Why is play important for children’s language development?
It helps them develop their vocabulary. Children need language to communicate and negotiate during co-operative play.
How do infants use their senses in play?
They use all their senses to find out about the world around them (heuristic play).
How do children in the pre-operational stage (2-7 years) learn best?
Through exploratory play.
