What are the common drug-drug interactions of Sodium Valproate?

A
  • It’s a CYP inhibitor - so can increase the plasma conc of some drugs e.g. other AEDs
  • Patients on AEDs and warfarin will need close monitoring (valproate is an inhibitor or CYP450s that metabolise warfarin)
