Asthmatics (a preventer inhaler when the reliever is not enough)

What is the mechanism of action of Fluticasone?
A
Activates cytoplasmic receptors, activated receptor passes into nucleus and modifies transcription
Reduced mucosal inflammation, widens airways and reduced mucous - reduces symptoms, exacerbations and death

What are the common adverse reactions of Fluticasone?
A
Local immunosuppression - candidiasis, hoarse voice
Have poor oral bioavailability so ADRs are limited to the respiratory system
