Normative social influence - (normative meaning normal)
A
- accepting information from others result in an agreeing viewpoint, this is mostly concerned with compliance
- fear of the need for social compliance and a fear of rejection
- the individual must feel under surveillance from the group.
-May be seen as more public than private

Informational social influence -
A
-Accepts an idea about reality from the experience about others, along with a need to be accepted.
-Results with a form and desire to be right
-It uses others to gain a sense about reality
-More likely if the situation is unknown this is because the situation is seen as ambiguous and unknown to the individual.
-Changes position to fit in line with the group.
-Changes both public and private viewpoints.
