what is verbal bullying?
using words to hurt

name calling, making hurtful comments, ridiculing, making racist, sexist or disabist comments, making threats
what is emotional bullying?
causing psychologicsl hurt

spreading rumours, excluding, ignoring, stalking
what is physical bullying?
using force
Examples of physical bullying
hitting, pushing, slapping, kicking, taking/hiding/ damaging another’s belongings
what is cyber bullying?
using technology to hurt
Examples of cyber bullying
sending hurtful messages via the internet, sharing personal information without permission, posting inappropriate photos, hurtful/anonymous text messaging
short-term effects of bullying
stress/anxiety, inability to cope with life events, poor self-image, low self-esteem, withdrawal from school, work and activities, eating disorders.
long-term effects of bullying
difficulties in forming relationships, poor academic achievement, substance misuse, self-harm, increased risk of sucide
what are vulnerability factors?
These are factors that can increase the likelihood of being bullied such as physical appereance or sucess.
how might bullying effect the bully ?
It can effect the bully in many ways such as being more likely to abuse alcohol and drugs, get in to fights, vandalsie property, dropout of school or becoming a criminal
