Problem solving, Moral development, Abstract thought and creative thinking, memory, language development

this is time of rapid intellectual development. 90% of neuron connections are in place by the time children are 5 years old
What happens at early adulthood linking to intellectual development?
Intellectual development continues in early adulthood. They will have gained knowledge, skills and experience.
They use past experiences to make judgement. Thinking is logical and realistic. Individuals are able to think through problems and make decisions.
What happens at later adulthood linking to intellectual development?
Individuals continue to learn new skills and knowledge into later adulthood. Intelligence does not but short-term memory and thinking speed may decline.

can use all their senses to help understand the world around them

can ask questions, count, recognise colours and sort objects

starting to read and write and draw in detail, can talk about the past and future

can think more deeply, reason, talk about abstract ideas and plan
