Q

What were Zajonc’s findings? (Phycologist associated with the drive theory)

A
  • The prescience of an audience increases the arousal level of a performer
  • This increases the likelihood of the dominant response (Drive Theory)
  • If dominant response is likely to be correct (EXPERT) then SOCIAL FACILITATION takes place
  • If dominant response is likely to be correct (BEGGINER) then social inhibition takes place
