2000- 2100
Class?
Still slight divides between UC, MC and LC
However some sports stiff have divides eg: UC =Polo
MC= Golf LC= Football
Sport can be used as a tool for SOCIAL MOBILITY eg: Wayne Rooney from LC becomes millionaire.
Views have changed in amateurism and professionalism- people aspire to become professionals.
Law and Order?
Safety of spectators is key- all seater stadia. CCTV AND SECURITY- to prevent hooliganism eg : Hillsborough stadium disaster.
Drug laws, litigation and prosecutions, Duty of care from officials.
CAS- increased number of appeals eg: Russian Olympic ban appeal in 2016
Litigation- eg: rugby ref sued for poor mitigation of tackle that lead to a broken neck.
Education?
PE compulsory on the national curriculum.
Increased inter-school fixtures/competitions.
Extra curricular sports and sports clubs= links to community.
Qualifications- gcse, a level, degree, university.

-specialist coaches, facilities, equipment, higher standard of comps, talented individuals given scholarships.
What Law/ Title was introduced in 1972?
Title IX (Title 9), within America, equal opportunities of men and women.
Gender?
More equality and less stereotyping eg: Nicole Adams
More campaigns such as “This Girl Can”
However media is still dominated by men.
Also massive wage disparities eg: In the British Golf Open women received only 10% of prize money.
BUT- IN 2007 WIMBELDON introduced equal prize money for men and women.
Income?
More disposable income to spend on sport, activities, memberships.
GLOBAL RECESSSION OF 2008= negative impact still on economy.
Corona virus impact of 2020= economic impact
Time?
More flexible hours “flexi-time” eg: take the morning off to go to the gym.
More holiday time to take off eg: go and watch the summer Olympics.
BUT every year since Olympics in 2012 there has been a gradual decline due to work life balance.
Transport?
Multiple cars per house hold, trains, buses.
CHEAP AIRLINE FLIGHTS= spectate oversees, go skiing= try new sports.
Players and professionals can easily play internationally in other leagues or games eg: London Olympic games.
Define globalisation?
The movement/ process that involves sport as a worldwide business.
- features corporate brands, media coverage and the movement of officials, players and spectators.
Define the “Golden Triangle”?
The interdependence of sport, media and sponsorship.
Each need each other to succeed
Golden Triangle examples?
Stadia: O2 arena Event: Wimbledon sponsored by Robinsons
Player: David Beckham sponsored by Nike

Impacts of globalisation?
- Greater freedom of movement eg: Barmy Army for England cricket
- Increased media coverage and participation
- Increased drive to create sports clubs
- Influences finances of sport with networks paying large amounts to broadcast certain events.
