2. Experimenter explains that he carried out research into sensory deprivation in Rome - the after effects were bad including two people asking to stop participation due to strong symptoms
3. Now their aim is to replicate the research with a younger sample, although they’re not sure about the outcome
4. Experimenter asks students to write a statement to convince fellow students to participate in the sensory deprivation study
5. Students moved into a second room, were told what they must include in their statement and read the Research Committee form which later questions the basic ethical norms of the research.
6. Participants took two personality inventories
7. They were then debriefed and asked to sign a second form giving consent to use their data
