What was the aim of Bocchiaro’s study?
A
To investigate the characteristics of those who are obedient, compared to those who are disobedient

What was the procedure pf the study?
A
- Psychologist asked students to provide names of fellow students
- Experimenter explains that he carried out research into sensory deprivation in Rome - the after effects were bad including two people asking to stop participation due to strong symptoms
- Now their aim is to replicate the research with a younger sample, although they’re not sure about the outcome
- Experimenter asks students to write a statement to convince fellow students to participate in the sensory deprivation study
- Students moved into a second room, were told what they must include in their statement and read the Research Committee form which later questions the basic ethical norms of the research.
- Participants took two personality inventories
- They were then debriefed and asked to sign a second form giving consent to use their data
