Soc5 Principles Of Training Flashcards
Specificity
Matching training requirements of activities e.g. cm in footballer high level fitness to run box to box
Progressive overload
Gradually increasing the ammount of overload so as to gain fitness e.g. weights in gym increase
Target zone
Between minimum amd maximum thresholds
How would you progressively overload
For strength, overload training may mean lifting a weight at 60-80% of max effort e.g. squat 120 1rm 60-80% [72-96 training zone]
Individual needs
Matching requirement of a individual e.g. runners have different programmes to tennis players
Frequency
This means how long you need to train for in order to last amd achieve improvement
Time
Time mean how long each training seasion must last in order to be of any benelit and to achieve
Intensity
This means how hard someone trains. This can be adjusted to how you progressivly overload
Type
This means the method of training to achieve particular goals. This overlaps with specificity
