Name the three types of guidance
Visual
Verbal
Manual + Machanical
What is visual guidance
Giving you something to look at to replicate
What is verbal guidance
Given before or during a visual demonstration to support it. Difficult with beginners
What is manual + mechanical guidance
When the coach is in contact with the performer and allowing them to feel out the action
What is intrinsic feedback
Feedback that comes director from the performer themselves on how they think they performed. Could be positive or negative
What is extrinsic feedback?
Feedback from am outside source (coach) after or during the performance
What is Concurrent feedback?
Feedback given from the sideline during the performance
What is terminal feedback?
Feedback given after the performance
What is an open skill?
Skill needed in open play when game is changing
What is a closed skill?
Skills needed in a stable, predictable environment
E.g. free kick
What is a basic skill
Requires little concentration and generally easier, this varies for each player
What is a complex skill
Needs the player’s complete concentration and is difficult to perform. Takes years to perfect
What is a low skill
Can be broken into simple parts to be repeated
What is a high skill
A skill that has to be done all together and cannot be broken down
